2. Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualifications:
- Candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th) with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized board.
- Candidates must have completed a three-year diploma course in specific Engineering or Electrical trades from an AICTE-recognized Polytechnic Institute with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
- Age Criteria:
- 01/2027 Batch: Candidates must be born between 01 Dec 2004 and 31 May 2009 (inclusive).
- 02/2027 Batch: Candidates must be born between 01 May 2005 and 31 Oct 2009 (inclusive).
- Marital Status: Applicants must be unmarried Indian male candidates and remain so throughout the four-year engagement period.
3. Selection Process
- Stage I: Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET 2/2026):
- A computer-based test consisting of 100 objective-type questions.
- The test includes four sections: English & General Awareness, Science, Mathematics, and Trade-Specific Diploma content.
- The duration is one hour, and there is a penalty (negative marking) of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
- Stage II: PFT, Written Exam, and Medical:
- Candidates shortlisted based on Stage I performance will undergo a Physical Fitness Test (PFT).
- PFT Standards: 1.6 km run in 06 minutes 30 seconds, 20 squats (Uthak Baithak), 15 push-ups, and 15 bent-knee sit-ups.
- Following the PFT, a Stage II written examination is conducted, followed by a formal Recruitment Medical Examination.
- Final Merit: A Provisional Select List is prepared based on performance in the Stage II written exam, PFT, and medical results.
4. Terms of Service and Benefits
- Duration: Enrollment is for a period of four years under the Navy Act 1957.
- Pay and Allowances: Agniveers will receive a monthly package of ₹30,000, which increases annually.
- Seva Nidhi: Upon completion of four years, a one-time Seva Nidhi package (comprising the Agniveer’s 30% contribution and the Government’s matching contribution) is provided.
- Insurance & Compensation: Candidates are provided a non-contributory Life Insurance cover of ₹48 lakh. Additional ex-gratia compensation is provided in cases of death or disability attributable to service.
- Further Enrollment: Up to 25% of each batch may be offered permanent enrollment as sailors after the four-year term, based on performance and organizational requirements.

- Q: Can I edit my application after submission?
- A: Yes, a correction window is provided after the application closing date, and an additional two-day window is activated after the INET exam.
- Q: What is the minimum physical height required?
- A: The minimum height standard is 157 cm.
- Q: Are there any medical disqualifications?
- A: Candidates with gender reassignment surgery or predominant characteristics of the opposite gender will be declared unfit. Permanent tattoos are only permitted on specific inner parts of the forearm and the back of the hand.
- Q: What happens if I don’t receive an admit card after payment?
- A: If the fee is deducted but the admit card is not generated, candidates should wait 7 working days for an automatic refund of the unsuccessful payment.
