About CRE-5 & Eligibility Notice

The Common Recruitment Examination (CRE)-5 is a special-purpose recruitment initiative for timely appointments to various regular Non-Faculty Group-B and Group-C posts across 32 participating AIIMS and other Central Government Institutes/Bodies. These institutes are independent autonomous bodies functioning separately from AIIMS, New Delhi. The Examination Section, AIIMS New Delhi acts only as the conducting body for the Computer Based Test (CBT) — recruitment rules, eligibility, and final appointments rest entirely with each respective institute.

Important: The examination is conducted without scrutiny of eligibility at the time of application. Candidates must satisfy themselves that they meet all eligibility criteria (education, age, experience) for their chosen post as on the closing date — 3rd July 2026. Mere appearance in the CBT does not validate eligibility; candidature can be cancelled at any stage, including after joining, if found ineligible.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

10 Questions
What is AIIMS CRE-5 2026?
The Common Recruitment Examination (CRE)-5 is a single-window online examination conducted by the Examination Section, AIIMS New Delhi, for filling regular Group-B & Group-C Non-Faculty posts across 32 participating AIIMS and other Central Government Institutes/Bodies, covering 54 different post groups under Notice No. 93/2026 dated 13.06.2026.
What is the last date to apply for CRE-5?
The online registration closes on 3rd July 2026 up to 5:00 PM. Applications submitted after this date and time will not be accepted, and no extension will be granted under any circumstances. Candidates are strongly advised to apply well in advance.
What is the application fee for CRE-5?
General/OBC candidates must pay ₹3000 per group; SC/ST/EWS candidates pay ₹2400 per group; PwBD candidates are fully exempted. The fee is payable online via Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking. SC/ST candidates who appear for the exam get their fee refunded after results are declared.
Can I apply for multiple post groups?
Yes. Candidates can apply for more than one group, but a separate application form must be filled and the prescribed examination fee paid separately for each group applied for.
What is the CBT exam pattern?
The Computer Based Test (CBT) is 90 minutes long, divided into 5 sections of 18 minutes each. It contains 100 MCQs worth 400 marks (4 marks each) — 20 questions on General Knowledge/Aptitude/Basic Computers and 80 questions on the domain subject relevant to the chosen group. There is negative marking of 1/4 mark per wrong answer.
What are the qualifying marks for CRE-5?
Qualifying marks are 40% for UR/EWS candidates, 35% for OBC candidates, and 30% for SC/ST and PwBD candidates (irrespective of their category). Ex-servicemen qualifying marks apply as per their original category.
When is the CRE-5 CBT exam expected to be held?
The CBT is tentatively scheduled for 25th to 27th July 2026. However, AIIMS reserves the right to conduct the examination on any other date with at least 10 days’ advance notice. Skill/Trade Test dates (if applicable to the chosen group) will be notified later.
Is NOC mandatory for currently employed candidates?
Yes. Candidates currently working in Government/Semi-Government/PSUs/Autonomous Bodies or any Government-funded institution (including contractual employees) must upload a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their current employer by 8th July 2026. Failure to do so will mean the candidate cannot appear in the examination, regardless of application status.
Where can I check the post-wise, institute-wise vacancy and eligibility details?
Complete post-wise eligibility criteria (qualification, age limit, pay level) is given in Annexure-I (from page 26), and category-wise vacancy details for each post and institute are given in Annexure-II (from page 110) of the official Detailed Recruitment Advertisement (DRA) available on www.aiimsexams.ac.in.
Will appointment be guaranteed after clearing the CBT?
No. AIIMS Examination Section is merely the conducting body for the CBT. Appointment is subject to the eligibility verification and decision of the competent authority of the respective participating institute. Candidature is liable to cancellation at any stage — including after joining — if ineligibility is detected.
